Elizabeth Giles - Child Psychologist

Elizabeth Giles is a Child Psychologist who has worked across a variety of public service, tertiary education and primary school settings for over 15 years.

She completed her Graduate Diploma in Psychology at the University of Sydney in 2004 and has since had a commitment to professional development, developing skills in CBT, Narrative therapy, Acceptance based treatments (Mindfulness), play therapy, and psychodynamic approaches.

Elizabeth brings a genuine sense of compassion to her work with children and adolescents. She focuses on working with children (3-17) across a range of areas including emotional regulation (difficulties with managing big emotions such as anger and anxiety), grief and loss, difficulties with behavior, relationships and/or emotions at school or home.

She also has experience in supporting children with a range or learning difficulties and is aware of the provisions in the school system, and experience in supporting teens with career decision making. 

Elizabeth works collaboratively with parents and children to establish goals for therapy and find workable solutions to difficulties which the child or family may be facing. She focuses on establishing a safe and welcoming environment so as to help children feel comfortable in the unfamiliar setting of therapy as well as providing parents with practical evidence based strategies that can help create sustainable change.

Elizabeth is a fully registered Psychologist with AHPRA (Registration number: PSY0001213587) and is eligible to provide specialist psychological services under Medicare.
